IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME…

Or will they?

If your website is not well optimised you won’t be found by your customers. Simple. Or worse, your customers will find your competitors!

What we do for you is to ensure that this does not happen. Basic, on-page SEO involves a combination of several factors all coming together to work as one for your site + its existence in search engine results.

When the head of Google’s web spam team says that WordPress is a great choice, taking care of 80-90% of the mechanics of search engine optimisation for you, we knew we were on to a good thing.

For more fine-grained SEO control, there are plenty of SEO plugins (software with additional features that simply plugs in to the WordPress core files) to take care of that, which we can install + customise for you. From then on, it is a simple task for you to tweak the SEO settings according to the feedback you receive from your site’s analytics.

SO, WHAT IS ON-PAGE SEO?

Meta Tags

meta tags
These are snippets of HTML code in the head section of your web site which are not seen by your visitors but are used by search engines. It is where you add your page descriptions, page titles + keyphrases.

The page title shows up in the top of a web browser + in the search engine results (which is where you’ll see your page description too). This means it has a heavy influence on your ranking.

In combination with your page content, the information inside your meta tags can go a long way in optimising your site + reaching your target audience.

Keyphrases

keywords
Keywords + keyphrases are used by search engines to provide the most appropriate content based on searches which reflect those keyphrases.

Keyphrases are important! Choose them carefully – if you provide services in a specific geographical area only, you will be able to significantly increase your chances of being found by your customers if you incorporate this into your keyphrases.

It pays to do some research on which keyphrases are the most appropriate for your site + how much competition there is for them.

Page Content

page-contents
Now that you have established what your keyphrases are + have created the appropriate page titles + descriptions, you are only halfway there. If your keyphrases do not appear in the actual page content, you will not reap the benefits of a properly optimised site.

It is the combination of these efforts that gives you rewards + therefore your page contents need to be tailored accordingly.

If this scares you, don’t worry – we’ve got that covered too! We can write your web site content for you or adapt your own to comply with sound SEO principles.

Web Site Analytics

analytics
Have Google account. Will analyse.

Knowing what your customers do when they visit your site will give you an insight on how functional your site is. If you already have a Google account (if not, we can set one up for you) we will integrate Google Analytics into your site. This provides you with an extremely powerful + comprehensive tool for finding out what works + what doesn’t in your site.

It can give you clues on what changes to make + where to make them. Need help interpreting the reports? No problem, just call us.
